Secondary 4 Level Programs

Introduction

To inculcate the values of a Concerned Admiral, the secondary 3 Admirals embarked on a series of programmes that help to build competencies such as diversity appreciation, social responsibility, perspective taking, positive relationship building and civic consciousness. Programmes

As part of ADSS Co-Curriculum, the Secondary 4/5 iconic programmes aim to provide

  • Age-appropriate exposure and development to Secondary 4/5 students in the CLAMPS (Cognitive, Leadership, Aesthetics, Moral, Physical and Social) domains and
  • Tangible opportunities for Secondary 4/5 students to impact the school, community and Singapore as Contributing Admirals.

Chingay NE Cohort Trip

The Chingay NE Cohort Trip (30 January 2016) built on the National Education experienced by the students through the 4 years. Through the pre-event activity, Secondary 4/5 Admirals penned down their hopes for SG100 and reflected on their personal contribution to Singapore.  After the trip, each Secondary 4/5 class produced a video on the theme “Together We Keep Singapore Strong” to share their learning points with the ADSS family on Total Defence Day.

Customised Learning for Life Programme for Secondary 4/5

The LLP is customized for the Secondary 4/5 level with the objective of nurturing Secondary 4/5 Admirals into mindful leaders who contribute meaningfully to the community. Anchoring on the Design Thinking approach which focuses on empathy and solutioning, Secondary 4/5 Admirals identified real-life problems faced by the elderly, followed by generation and prototyping of possible solutions. After the programme (end of Term 1, 2016), Secondary 4/5 Admirals set up booths to showcase their proposed solutions so as to positively impact the rest of the ADSS family.

Dream Actualisation Retreat Series (DARe Series)

The 3-part DARe Series aims to support the Secondary 4/5 Admirals in their national examinations preparation and guide them to discover their education and career aspirations. With that in mind, the programmes are designed to motivate Admirals and equip them with cross-discipline study skills to do well. As one of the final cohort programmes, ADSS hopes that the programme will form part of the lasting fond memory for Admirals. The 3-part DARe Series comprises

  • a motivational and study skills workshop (Actualise your Dreams)
  • an alumni, Institutes of Higher Learning and Education and Career Guidance expose (Confirm your Dreams)
  • an inspirational movie screening (Fuel your Dreams)
